How to Determine TriClamp Size
TriClamp Size is determined by the outside diameter of the pipe, NOT the outside diameter of the ferrule. The ferrule ( the end piece that makes half of the connection to another TC fitting) is about 1/2" larger than the TC size. In other words, a 1.5" TC fitting will have a ferrule whose outside diameter is about 2". Confusion arises with 1" TC fittings because they use the same ferrule as 1.5" TC fittings. [The two ferrules at right in photo are 1.5" and 1" Triclamp.]

1" and 1.5" TriClamp use the same clamp. The 'ferrule' is the same. The difference is the pipe diameter. To demonstrate, a 1" Tee is attached directly to a 1.5" Tee. 1" TC Gasket on top and 1.5" TC Gasket below. They have the same outside diameter. The difference is the throughput.

Brewery (long) Hose Adapter (TC x hose barb)

These have long ends for use with Brewers/Vintner hose or for high temperature applications. Brewery hose adapters are generally not needed for wine applications (except perhaps with large diameter hose).

It is easier to clean the lip of the fitting (inside the hose) with the standard rubber hose adapter than with the longer adapters.

Apply the clamp furthest from the hose end first. Then apply the second with the buckle at 180° to the first.

TC Expanding Ferrule (TC x hose)

Air Blow Check Valve
Air-blow check valve has three applications.
1. Mixing or blending. Attach to tank port and use compressed gas to thoroughly blend/mix product.
2. Evacuate lines of product, thus saving otherwise wasted product.
3. Evacuate lines of CIP solutions thus helping to protect the lines against corrosion.

Y-Ball Check Valves
304 stainless.

When liquid is pushed into the inlet, a check ball is forced into the branch, allowing full fluid flow. When the fluid flow stops, equalizing the pressure, the ball falls back into the inlet, preventing backflow. Should reverse pressure occur, the ball seats firmly against the inlet gasket to prevent leakage.
PTFE (teflon) ball. Seating pressure is very low (0.75" H₂O = .03 psi)

Note that the Air Blow Check Valve can be attached to upper port to blow out both product or CIP solutions.

Air Blow Check Valve Air-blow check valve has three applications. 1. Mixing or blending. Attach to tank port and use compressed gas to thoroughly blend/mix product. 2. Evacuate lines of product, thus saving otherwise wasted product. 3. Evacuate lines of CIP solutions thus helping to protect the lines against corrosion. 304 stainless. Pneumatic bayonet on inlet. Y-Ball Check Valves 304 stainless. When liquid is pushed into the inlet, a check ball is forced into the branch, allowing full fluid flow. When the fluid flow stops, equalizing the pressure, the ball falls back into the inlet, preventing backflow. Should reverse pressure occur, the ball seats firmly against the inlet gasket to prevent leakage. PTFE (teflon) ball. Inline Strainer for grape seeds Custom internal strainer filters out seeds. Please note that the St. Pats Strainer has small holes designed to block grape seeds. 	Replacement Wire Cloth $25 240 micron mesh (30% open area). 1.5" and 2" Strainers have same wire cloth. Do not confuse this Wire Cloth with the Perforated Screen in photo at left. Wire cloth is included with Strainer but not used for grape seed removal. Typically used for filtering milk.

Tri-Clamp Gaskets made from FDA approved materials EPDM is fine for most applications with a working temp range of -40 F to 300 F. Silicone working temp range is -90 F to 480 F. Teflon is the best choice only for highly corrosive environments which does not include beer or wine.
