A TriClamp connection consists of two Ferrules joined by a Clamp with a Gasket.

Additional info about valves and fittings

How to Determine TriClamp Size
TriClamp Size is determined by the outside diameter of the pipe, NOT the outside diameter of the ferrule. The ferrule ( the end piece that makes half of the connection to another TC fitting) is about 1/2" larger than the TC size. In other words, a 1.5" TC fitting will have a ferrule whose outside diameter is about 2". Confusion arises with 1" TC fittings because they use the same ferrule as 1.5" TC fittings. [The two ferrules at right in photo are 1.5" and 1" Triclamp.]

1" and 1.5" TriClamp use the same clamp. The 'ferrule' is the same. The difference is the pipe diameter. To demonstrate, a 1" Tee is attached directly to a 1.5" Tee.

Replacement Seats
If you have white seat, you MUST order white.
If you have red or black seat, order either red or black. Red and black are interchangeable.
White is silicone. Red is silicone. Black is EPDM.

ULTRA Sanitary Butterfly Valve
Easily dissasembled for cleaning. Valve body is held together with a clamp. This valve is typically used in food processing with stringent sanitation requirements (for example, the valves are disassembled and cleaned after each process run.)
The difference between Ultra Sanitary and standard butterfly is that a clamp, rather than bolts, hold the valve body together.

Ball Valve for Wine
Teflon seats. Long, solid stainless handle.
Best quality ball valve in the wine industry.
304 stainless steel.
Please note. Do not mix seats between valves---this may cause leaks as the teflon will slowly form itself to its original valve. Teflon "cold-flows". This means it changes shape under pressure. Teflon seat will last virtually forever if it remains with the original valve.

3-Way Ball Valves -New design. Heavy duty and easier to open than other 3-way valves. We incorporated some of the innovative design features of the Wine ball valve above, and additionally modified the seats to make these valves easier to open. Seats are teflon and EPDM combination.

4 flow positions. You can allow flow between any 2 of the ports while blocking the third. In addition, you can allow flow between all 3 ports. You cannot regulate the flow to a port. It is either open or blocked.

Please note. Do not mix seats between valves---this may cause leaks as the teflon will slowly form itself to its original valve. Teflon "cold-flows". This means it changes shape under pressure. Teflon seat will last virtually forever if it remains with the original valve.

Clamp (heavy duty single pin)

304 stainless, not 202 stainless. Some clamps on the market are produced from cheaper 202 stainless (although suppliers are mistakenly listing them as 304). This can be easily checked with our X-Ray Fluorescence analyzer.

90° Rubber Hose Adapter (TC x hose barb)
Be careful when ordering. The first number is the TC size and the second is the hose barb size.

If you use two clamps, apply the clamp furthest from the hose end first. Then apply the second with the buckle at 180° to the first. A single clamp will suffice in many applications and with small diameter hose.

Air Blow Check Valve
Air-blow check valve has three applications.
1. Mixing or blending. Attach to tank port and use compressed gas to thoroughly blend/mix product.
2. Evacuate lines of product, thus saving otherwise wasted product.
3. Evacuate lines of CIP solutions thus helping to protect the lines against corrosion.

Y-Ball Check Valves
304 stainless.

How to Determine TriClamp Size

When liquid is pushed into the inlet, a check ball is forced into the branch, allowing full fluid flow. When the fluid flow stops, equalizing the pressure, the ball falls back into the inlet, preventing backflow. Should reverse pressure occur, the ball seats firmly against the inlet gasket to prevent leakage.
PTFE (teflon) ball. Seating pressure is very low (0.75" H2O = .03 psi)

Note that the Air Blow Check Valve can be attached to upper port to blow out both product or CIP solutions.

Tri-Clamp Gaskets
made from FDA approved materials

EPDM is fine for most applications with a working temp range of -40 F to 300° F. EPDM generally has better resistivity to cleaning chemicals than silicone.
Silicone working temp range is -90 F to 480 F.
Teflon (-10 to 300°F) is the best choice only for highly corrosive environments which does not include beer or wine.
Buna: We do not offer Buna. Buna is best suited for petroleum industry (gasoline). Buna temp range is narrow (-25 to 225° F) and has the worst rating for steam cleaning. In addition, Buna generally has lower ratings for chemical resistivity than EPDM or silicone.

Garolla is the Italian equivalent of TriClamp. You will find these on some Italian equipment. [Please note that all Italian equipment sold at St. Pats terminates in TriClamp, not Garolla.

How to Determine Garolla Size
