ALFA MAGIC Lees Filter and Combination Lees/Wine Filter
Comparison of ALFA Magic vs ASSO Combination Filter with 30 DE plates and 30 Noryl Plates includes Manual Hydraulic Closure $13,600 Lees Filter with 30 DE plates $inquire |
ALFA MAGIC combination filter with both DE and Plate-and-Frame Filter. DE plates are separated from Plate-and-Frame by Blind Plate. (Blind Plate can also be used with DE filter alone to use less than 30 plates.) The gray plate in the center of the black plate-and-frame is the optional Inversion chamber (this allows coarse and then fine filtration with sheets) The stainless steel end plate of the DE filter (left end) has butterfly valve (top) and sample tap (bottom). The blind plate has sample outlet valve (facing toward viewer in this photo). Bottom drip tray is sloped with outlet valve.

Control panel, piston pump, DE buffer tank with gauge. The sight glass with gauge and valve on upper left of end plate are the outlet of the plate-and-frame filter. |

Bleed/Blowout Valve. The small valve at the top of the filter is used to bleed air from the housing during startup. The same valve can be used to blowout the product at the end of filtration (attach a gas hose). 2nd Pressure Gauge: It is the pressure difference between inlet/outlet that indicates the cartridge needs to be replaced or cleaned. However, the outlet pressure will be nearly zero if you are filtering into an open tank. Therefore, a single pressure gauge will suffice in this application. If you are filtering into a closed or restricted system, then you will need a pressure gauge on both sides of the filter. We now offer Cartridge Blanks--these permit the use of the triple housing with one (or two) cartridges. Simply plug the unused port(s) with blank(s). Sight Glass: A sight glass can be used at any point in the filter system. It is used to simply indicate when filtration begins or ends. Click here for sight glasses. These units are 1.5" TriClamp. Cartridge Housings are polished to exceed 3A standard (32 micron-inch). Housing bell: RA=8 micron-inch (inside and outside). Base polish: RA= 25 micron-inch. These values were measured by St. Patrick's with our Surface Roughness Analyzer. Replacement Gasket for Single Housing $4 |
