3-Phase Power using a Phase Converter
Phaseconverter.com
or.phaseconverterspecialist.com/
To supply 3-phase power from a single phase service. If you do not have 3-phase power, you will need a rotary phaseconverter. I purchased a good quality one capable of handling all equipment that we sell for ~$625. Basically, you need 40 Amp 220V single phase service---the phase converter changes this to 3 phase. We cannot emphasize the long term value of 3-phase power for even small wineries. Single phase power limits the choices in equipment and many items will run smoother and quieter with 3-phase motors. 3-phase motors draw less current than comparable powered 1-phase.

GFI and Frquency Drives (aka Inverters). GFI (Ground Fault Interrupter, aka GFCI) may be a problem with equipment with frequency drives. Frequency Drives, by design, send current to ground which is what triggers a GFI. Equipment with Frequency Drives include Electric Corkers, Monoblock, and pumps with Frequency Drives.

Stainless steel thickness: Gauge vs mm
Tank drawings include stainless steel thickness in mm. We include equivalent Stainless USS Gauge information here. Please note that "gauge" is a rather vague term because there are several different gauge scales including, B&S, AWG (wire), and USS. USS is the scale used for sheet steel in the USA. We do not list thickness in 'gauge' for the tanks because it is imprecise. For example, 2.5 mm is between 12 and 13 gauge.
